Privacy Policy

If you create an account:

• Your email address and name (entered by you, or provided by Google if you sign in with Google).
• A password, stored only as a one-way hash. Google sign-in accounts get a random password you never use.
• Saved locations (ZIP code, city, state, time zone) and your daily digest preference.
• Account activity: sign-ins, failed sign-in attempts, registration and email verification, with IP address, browser user agent, and approximate location derived from IP. We use this for security and abuse prevention.
• A record of the account emails we send you (type, status, and time).

We do not currently collect phone numbers. If we add SMS alerts later, a phone number will be optional and this policy will be updated first.

For all visitors: we use Google Analytics to understand aggregate site usage, and our servers keep standard operational logs. Signing in sets a session cookie that keeps you logged in.

• To run your account and send the emails you ask for (verification, password reset, daily digest).
• To show happy hours near your saved locations.
• To protect the service from spam, fraud, and abuse.

We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising.

We use a small number of providers to operate the site, and they process data on our behalf:

• Amazon Web Services: hosting, database, and email delivery.
• Google: optional Google sign-in, reCAPTCHA spam protection at sign-up, and Google Analytics.

• Account data is kept while your account exists and is deleted when you delete your account.
• Accounts that never verify their email address are deleted automatically after 2 days.
• Security records not tied to an account, such as failed sign-in attempts for an email address that has no account, are deleted after 30 days.
• Database backups are kept for 7 days, then permanently overwritten.

You can permanently delete your account at any time, in either of two ways:

1. Yourself: sign in, go to Profile Settings, and use Delete Account in the Danger Zone. Deletion is immediate.
2. By email: write to support@happyhourcircuit.com. We answer requests daily: we send a one-time confirmation link to the email address on your account, and your account is deleted when you click it. We then email you a confirmation.

Deletion permanently removes:

• Your account (email, name, password hash)
• Saved locations and notification settings
• Your sign-in and account activity history, including failed sign-in attempts recorded under your email
• Our log of emails sent to you

To protect you, we never delete an account just because an email asked us to, since the sender of an email can be faked. Only someone with access to the account's inbox, or signed in to the account, can delete it. If we have no account for your address, we'll tell you so.

Deleted data drops out of our backups within 7 days. If you emailed us, we keep that email thread as a record that we handled your request. Analytics data in Google Analytics is aggregated and not linked to your account.

Deleting your account cannot be undone. If you sign up again later with the same email or Google account, a brand-new account is created.

• Turn the daily digest on or off in Profile Settings, or use the unsubscribe link in any digest email.
• Ask us what data we hold about you, or to correct it, by emailing support@happyhourcircuit.com.

Happy Hour Circuit is about bars and drink specials and is intended only for adults of legal drinking age.
